Inspector Biography or Curriculum Vitae (CV) Scott Swickard is the founder, owner and principal inspector for Inspect OC, a Home Inspection company serving Orange County, and surrounding areas in Southern California. The business was started in 2002. Scott has personally conducted nearly 4,000 Home Inspections, including both residential and commercial inspections. He also performs construction progress Draw inspections for financial institutions. Scott has a background of over 25 years in home
maintenance and repair, construction and remodeling. Formal home inspection
training is ongoing, and includes past formal training through ITA
(Inspection Training Associates) in San Marcos, CA. ITA is recognized as one
of the premiere home inspection training schools in the country, and has among
its staff the highest caliber instructors in the industry. Completion of a home Scott is a Certified Member of CREIA (California Real Estate Inspection Association), an ASHI (American Society of Home Inspectors) Certified Inspector, a Registered Home Inspector with the Housing Inspection Foundation, and an affiliate member of the Orange County Association of Realtors. CREIA and ASHI are two of the oldest and most widely respected home inspection organizations, with a dedication to consumer protection and education. In 2007-2008, Scott served as President of the Orange County Chapter of CREIA/ASHI, with past roles as Vice-President and Secretary. During his term as President, his chapter was awarded Chapter of the Year from among all state chapters from CREIA, for leadership and dedication to helping educate its members. He is currently serving as a Regional Director for CREIA Region 6, serving on the Board and helping to set policy for the future success of the Home Inspection profession. Scott is a firm believer in providing education, training, standards and ethics development for all inspectors. This helps provide the real estate community and homeowners with the best service from their home inspectors. Formal work experience includes over 20 years working in senior management and sales roles for Fortune 500 manufacturing and marketing companies. Education includes a Masters Degree in Business and Management from Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, and an undergraduate Bachelor of Science degree in Business from San Jose State University. Scott is a California native who has spent most of his life in the state. He and his family have lived in Orange County, California for over 20 years. course work and practical experience. Scott has also completed additional
training in Pool and Spa Inspection, Manufactured Home Inspection,
Mold Identification and Sampling and Electrical systems through
ITA.
